Breaking The Cycle

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 22 October 2026

These are the terms for joining Breaking The Cycle. Please read them before you pay. They're written in plain English, the same way everything else here is.

If anything doesn't make sense, email us and ask before you join. We'd rather answer a question now than have a problem later.

The short version

What's in these terms

Who we are

Breaking The Cycle is run by Ryan Charles, a sole trader based in England, trading as Breaking The Cycle. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Ryan Charles trading as Breaking The Cycle. "You" means the person joining the programme.

You can send us anything formal, including legal notices, by email.

Email: hello@breaking-the-cycle-for-men.uk
Website: breaking-the-cycle-for-men.uk

Ryan is a coach. He isn't a doctor or any other kind of regulated health professional, and nothing in this programme is medical treatment.

Who can join and how

The programme is for adults aged 18 and over. You need to be joining for yourself, not for a business.

Everyone starts with a discovery call. It's a chance for both of us to check the programme is right for you right now. If we don't think it is, we'll tell you honestly and we won't take your money.

After the call, we email you a payment link. Before you pay, we confirm your tier, your price and your start date in writing. When your payment goes through, there's a contract between you and us on these terms. We then send you a confirmation email with everything in writing.

What's included

There are three ways to do the programme: Blueprint, Group Guided and One-to-One. Every tier includes:

On top of that:

The price doesn't include supplements, food or any other products. You buy those yourself if you choose to.

What you need. The member area works in an up-to-date web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with an internet connection. The community runs on the free Telegram app. Calls and journey therapy sessions usually run on Zoom, which is free to use. The member area is protected by a password.

After your 12 weeks. The weekly calls and the group thread finish when your 12 weeks finish. You keep your access to the member area and the community for as long as the programme runs. If we ever decide to close the member area, we'll email you at least 60 days before it closes.

Updates. We keep improving the programme, so pages may be updated or moved around. During your 12 weeks we won't take away any main part of what you paid for.

How the 12 weeks run

We run a rolling intake, so you don't have to wait for a set date. Your 12 weeks always start on a Monday.

The days before your start date are your Week Zero. You'll have the member area straight away, so you can read through everything, book your journey therapy sessions and do your first shop. Your exact start date is in your confirmation email.

Weekly calls. Group calls are at a set time each week, which we confirm before you join. One-to-One calls are booked each week at a time that suits you both.

Moving or missing a call. If you need to move a One-to-One call, tell us at least 24 hours before and we'll find another time that week. Calls you miss without telling us aren't carried over, and neither are group calls you can't make. We don't record group calls, so everyone can talk freely.

If Ryan has to cancel a call. We'll rearrange it. If we can't, we'll add an extra call at the end of your 12 weeks or refund that call, whichever you prefer.

If life gets in the way. If something serious happens, like illness or a bereavement, talk to us. We can pause your 12 weeks once, for up to 4 weeks.

Finishing. At the end of week 12 we unlock the advanced protocols on your login. Everyone who reaches the end of week 12 gets them.

Your access and login

Your place is for you only. One person per login.

All the programme content belongs to Ryan Charles. When you join, we give you a personal licence to use it for your own programme. You can't pass that licence on to anyone else.

Keep your login details private. If you think someone else has them, tell us straight away.

If you share your login or the content, abuse anyone, or seriously break these terms, we can pause or remove your access. See If we need to pause or end your place.

The community

The Telegram community only works if every man in it feels safe to be honest. By joining, you agree to these rules:

Ryan checks in regularly, but not around the clock. The community isn't a crisis service. If you're struggling, see Health and safety for people you can talk to any time.

Telegram is run by a separate company, and its own terms and privacy policy apply. Other members can see your Telegram name and profile photo, and possibly your phone number, depending on your Telegram settings. It's worth checking your privacy settings in Telegram before you join.

We can remove posts, and remove anyone who breaks these rules.

Journey therapy sessions

Every tier includes two journey therapy sessions. Ryan matches you with a practitioner based on what you tell us on your discovery call and in your intake form.

The practitioners are independent. They run their own practices and aren't employed by Breaking The Cycle. We choose them carefully. We're responsible for matching you with care and for making sure your two sessions are paid for and available to you. The practitioner is responsible for how they run each session.

What we share with them. We give your practitioner your name and contact details so you can book. Your intake answers stay with Ryan and aren't shared with the practitioner. What you tell your practitioner in a session is between you and them, and they keep their own records under their own privacy policy.

Paying for them. Your two sessions are included in your price. You don't pay the practitioner anything for them. We pay them directly.

Booking. You book both sessions directly with your practitioner. Sessions usually run on Zoom and last two hours or more. Book them early. We suggest the first in weeks 1 to 3 and the second around weeks 5 to 6.

Moving a session. If you need to move a session, tell your practitioner at least 48 hours before.

Missed sessions. If you don't turn up, or cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the session counts as used, unless there's a good reason such as illness or an emergency.

Time limit. Both sessions need to take place within 6 months of your start date.

If something goes wrong. If your practitioner cancels, can't carry on, or it just doesn't feel right, tell us. We'll rebook or match you with another practitioner at no extra cost.

Extra sessions. If you choose to book more sessions with your practitioner, that's a separate arrangement between you and them, on their own terms and prices. It isn't part of your agreement with us.

Journey therapy can bring up strong feelings. That's normal, but please read Health and safety before your first session.

Health and safety

Please read this part properly.

This is coaching and education, not medical treatment. Ryan isn't a doctor or a regulated health professional. Nothing in the programme diagnoses, treats or cures any condition, and it isn't a replacement for medical care, mental health care or medication. Results vary from man to man, and we can't promise any particular outcome.

Check with your doctor first. The programme includes things like cold water, sauna, breathwork, changes to what you eat and drink, supplements and, after the 12 weeks, the advanced protocols. These suit many people, but not everyone. Speak to your doctor before you start, and before any big change, if any of these apply to you:

Alcohol and drugs. If you drink heavily every day, or you depend on alcohol, drugs or prescribed medicines, don't stop suddenly. Stopping suddenly can be dangerous. Talk to your doctor first so you can do it safely.

Don't stop your medication. Nothing in the programme is a reason to stop or change medication. Only ever do that with your doctor.

Supplements and the advanced protocols. Supplements aren't medicines, but they can still interact with medication. Some things used in the advanced protocols, such as grapefruit and activated charcoal, can change how medicines work or stop them being absorbed. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking anything new, follow the label, and stop if something doesn't feel right.

The advanced protocols are optional. Only do them if you're well, you've checked with your doctor, and you've read every word of the instructions first.

Listen to your body. You choose which practices to do and how far to take them. Build up slowly. If something feels wrong, stop and get medical advice. Taking part is your choice, but that doesn't take away any responsibility we have if we've been negligent.

Inner work can stir things up. Journey therapy and the inner work can bring up old memories and strong emotions. That's often part of the process, but you never have to go further than feels safe. If you're seeing a therapist, counsellor or doctor for your mental health, keep them in the loop.

If you're struggling. If you're having a really hard time, or thinking about ending your life, please talk to someone straight away:

If you're in immediate danger, get emergency help straight away.

Tell us about changes. If your health changes during the programme, tell Ryan. We may suggest you pause or skip parts of it.

Supplements, products and affiliate links

We don't sell supplements or other products. When we recommend something, you buy it from another seller, such as Amazon or the brand itself. That seller is responsible for the product, delivery and returns. We're responsible for taking reasonable care over what we recommend.

Some of our links earn Ryan money. Some links in the member area and on our website are affiliate links, and some discount codes are linked to Ryan. If you buy through one of them, the seller pays Ryan a commission. Using our links or codes doesn't add anything to the price you pay.

We only recommend things Ryan uses or would use himself. Commission never decides what goes in the programme. You're free to buy the same products, or different ones, from anywhere you like.

Ivy & Marley, Ryan's own company

Ivy & Marley Ltd is a natural cleaning products company owned by Ryan. Some programme pages recommend Ivy & Marley products, so Ryan benefits when you buy them. We're telling you so you can make your own mind up.

You never need to buy Ivy & Marley products to do the programme. Any product that does the same job is fine.

Ivy & Marley Ltd is a separate company. If you buy from it, you're buying from Ivy & Marley Ltd on its own terms, not from Breaking The Cycle.

Paying

The price for your tier is the one confirmed to you in writing before you pay. That's the full price. There are no extra charges for anything listed in What's included.

You pay through Stripe, our payment provider, before your place starts. You pay in full when you join. We never see or store your full card details.

If a payment is reversed or charged back, we may pause your access until it's sorted out.

Cancellation and refunds

Our 14-day money-back promise. If you change your mind within 14 days of paying and no journey therapy session has taken place yet, email us and we'll refund everything you paid, including the member area part. You don't need to give a reason. This is on top of your legal rights, not instead of them. If a journey therapy session has already taken place, the rules below apply instead.

Your right to cancel in the first 14 days. Because you're buying online, the law gives you the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. The 14 days start the day after your payment goes through. For example, if you pay on 1 March, you can cancel up to the end of 15 March.

Starting straight away. When you paid, you asked us to start your programme straight away, during those 14 days. That means we let you into the member area and start matching you with a practitioner straight away. You also agreed that once we'd given you access to the member area, you'd lose your right to cancel that part. We confirm this in your confirmation email.

If you cancel within 14 days, here's how it works:

If we didn't ask for your agreement to start straight away, or didn't confirm it in your confirmation email, the law says you don't have to pay for anything you had in those 14 days, and we'll refund you in full.

How to cancel. Email hello@breaking-the-cycle-for-men.uk and tell us clearly that you want to cancel, or use the cancellation form below. You don't have to use the form. You just need to tell us before the 14 days run out. We'll confirm by email that we've got it.

Getting your money back. We'll refund you as soon as we can, and within 14 days of the day you tell us you're cancelling. We'll use the same payment method you paid with, and we won't charge you anything for the refund.

After the 14 days. After the 14 days you can't cancel just because you've changed your mind. If something serious happens, talk to us anyway, see If life gets in the way. Your other legal rights still apply.

If we don't deliver what we promised. By law, we have to provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and the member area has to be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll put it right. If we can't, you may be entitled to some or all of your money back. Nothing in these terms affects these legal rights. For free advice about your rights, contact Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk.

There's more about refunds if we have to pause or end your place in the next section.

If we need to pause or end your place

If the programme isn't safe for you right now. Your safety comes first. If something in your intake form, or something that comes up later, makes us think the programme isn't safe or right for you at the moment, we'll talk to you about it. We may suggest you speak to your doctor first, pause, or leave the programme. If we decide this before your start date and before any journey therapy session, we'll refund you in full. After that, we'll refund the part of the price for anything you haven't had yet.

If you break these terms. If you share your login or the content, abuse or threaten anyone, or seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we can pause or end your place. Unless it's serious, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we end your place, we'll refund the part of the price for services you haven't had yet, such as calls still to come and any journey therapy session not yet taken, less any reasonable costs we've had because of what happened.

If we can't provide the programme. If we have to stop running the programme, or can't provide part of it, for example because Ryan is seriously ill, we'll tell you as soon as we can. We'll refund you for anything you've paid for and haven't had.

Things outside our control. If something outside our control, like a Telegram or Zoom outage, stops us providing part of the programme, we'll tell you and do what we can to work around it. If it goes on for a long time, you can end your place and we'll refund you for anything you've paid for and haven't had.

If you're under 18. If we find out you're under 18, we'll end your place and refund you in full.

If you're not happy

If something's not right, please tell Ryan. Email hello@breaking-the-cycle-for-men.uk with what's happened and what you'd like us to do. We'll reply within 5 working days to say we've got it, and we aim to sort it out within 14 days.

If we can't sort it out between us, we'll tell you in writing whether there's an independent dispute resolution service we're willing to use. You can also get free advice from Citizens Advice, and you have the right to take a claim to court.

Our responsibility to you

What we're responsible for. If we break these terms or don't use reasonable care and skill, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you joined. We aren't responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable.

What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for:

Your devices. If digital content we've supplied damages a device or digital content that belongs to you because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation. We won't be responsible if you could have avoided the damage by following our advice to apply a free update, or if your device didn't meet the requirements we told you about.

Personal use only. The programme is for your own personal use. We're not responsible for business losses, such as lost profits or lost business opportunities.

Other people's products and services. When you buy something we recommend from another seller, or use Telegram, Zoom or another outside service, that business is responsible for its own product or service. We're still responsible for taking reasonable care over what we recommend and who we match you with.

Changes to the programme or these terms

The programme. We may update the programme content to improve it, keep it accurate, or reflect changes in the law. During your 12 weeks we won't take away any main part of what you've paid for.

These terms. The terms that apply to you are the ones you agreed to when you joined. We may need to change them to reflect changes in the law, or in how we run the programme. If a change affects you, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If a change is to your disadvantage and you don't want to accept it, you can end your place and we'll refund you for anything you've paid for and haven't had.

Closing the member area. If we ever decide to close the member area, we'll give you at least 60 days notice by email.

Who this agreement is between. This agreement is between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce it.

Passing it on. We may transfer this agreement to someone else, for example a company Ryan sets up to run Breaking The Cycle. If we do, we'll tell you, and your rights under these terms won't be affected. You can't transfer your place to someone else without our agreement in writing.

If part of these terms doesn't stand. If a court decides any part of these terms is unlawful, the rest still applies.

If we don't act straight away. If we don't insist on something straight away, we can still insist on it later.

Which law applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in the Scottish courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in the Northern Irish courts.
